Valkyria Chronicles Artwork Exhibition

Valkyria Chronicles Artwork Exhibition is taking place right now in Tokyo (From 26th May to 3rd June) and it will move at the end of June to Osaka (From 29th June to 1st July). As many of you will remember, this exhibition was held last year too, Tokyo (2 times), Nagoya and Osaka. SEGA in trouble

SEGA are planning to record 7.1 billion yen in extraordinary loss and it looks like they are going to cancel games, made some deep changes in the North American and European division and focus on brand like “Sonic the Hedgehog,”, “Football Manager”, “Total War” and “Aliens”, the ones that actually make money for them. How does it affect Valkyria Chronicles?, hard to know, but one thing for sure, they are not going to waste money on bringing Valkyria Chronicles 3 to the west, or maybe even developing another Valkyria Chronicles game in the near future, but this depends on how happy are they with the sales in Japan.

As many of you probably know, you can create your own characters in Soul Calibur V, this has been a trademark of the franchise since Soul Calibur III, and this time the character creation mode allows you to do many thing, one of them, creating your own Selvaria Bles.

Senjou no Valkyria franchise sales numbers

There are some things to consider before taking a look at the graph:

-The data comes from Media Create annual sales report (Senjou no Valkyria 1 & 2 games) and Famitsu annual sales report "provisional" (Senjou no Valkyria 3 games).
-Digital sales are not tracked.
-Media Create is regarded as the most complete and reliable source, but their chart for 2011 top sales games is not yet available, so I'm using the "provisional" Famitsu chart for Senjou no Valkyria 3 games.
-Sales for every game are slightly bigger because when the games can't reach a set position in the sales chart, the data is no longer provided to the public, but at this point in the game lifespan, sales are minimal and don't represent an impact in total sales numbers.
-There is something odd going on with the Extra Edition, the game was released in November, 23 and the Famitsu chart tracks till December, 25, so there is some data missing.

I will bring you any update if needed when Media Create 2011 chart is available to the public.

All in all, I think is safe to say that there is a strong fanbase in Japan, all the regular releases of the games has reached 150.000 copies sold. It's true that we don't know how much they spend to make the games or how much profit Sega gets from them (plus toys, books...) but there are games that sold way less and they get sequel all the time.

The Senjou no Valkyria 3 development team has posted this image some moments ago in the official blog to wish us a Happy New Year. I find pretty interesting, no only that they care to do this but they used the first image they used to tease Senjou no Valkyria 3 when the official site didn't exist and the website was just a misterious  http://code1935.jp/ .

This is, without a doubt the most complete resource to find information in english about everything related to the Valkyria Chronicles universe. This is a place maybe by and for fans, and everyone is invited to participate and share their knowledge or graphic material about the rich universe of Valkyria Chronicles.

With more than 500 pages and lacking an organized index, here you will find everything, from characters profiles to detailed information of every weapon used in the games and much more. If you have a hard time finding information through the menus, I encourage you to use the search engine.
