Valkyria Chronicles Artwork Exhibition

Valkyria Chronicles Artwork Exhibition is taking place right now in Tokyo (From 26th May to 3rd June) and it will move at the end of June to Osaka (From 29th June to 1st July). As many of you will remember, this exhibition was held last year too, Tokyo (2 times), Nagoya and Osaka. If by any chance your are in Tokyo or Osaka by those dates, check this for the details on how to get there.

Carry Selvaria anywhere with you

Hobby Stock is going to release this May a collection of straps based on SEGA's heroines. A box with 10 straps (9 regular straps + one secret) will cost 4,500 yens but many shops will sell a full box with big discounts, like Amiami with a 22% discount. As you can see on the image below, Selvaria is one of the straps in the collection, alongside characters from Phantasy Star, Sonic, Sakura Taisen and other famous SEGA heroines,

A little survey to help the franchise

The Gallian Liberation Front has uploaded a survey to provide SEGA and other 3rd party publishers with statistics on the Valkyria Chronicles fan base and about our behaviour toward Valkyria Chronicles 1, 2 and 3.

I think is an interesting survey, specially the part about Valkyria Chronicles 3, even suggesting a possible interest of the fanbase on kickstarter.

FTH has released the scanlation of the second chapter from the second volume of the manga based on Valkyria Chronicles. They also released the scanlation of  chapter 2 and 3 from Battlefield Virelai II (NSFW doujinshi).

Senjou no Valkyria & RAITA in Wonder Festival 2012 [Winter]

This is all the info and images that I manage to get from the Wonder Festival that took place 2 days ago. As far as I know the only figure that will be on stores is the Selvaria Bles figure created by Volks, the rest are model kits done by circles to be sold in hobby festivals. Regarding the RAITA figures, the only info that I manage to find it's that a company or circle called native is doing the Misa-nee from the Magical Girl doujinshi, for the rest I don't have a clue, and I don't know if the Misa-nee figure will be sold in stores or it's a model kit.

Fresh news from the Wonder Festival 2012. Volks is going to release a new Selvaria Bles figure with his trademark weapon, the Ruhm.

I'm  super busy right now and I can't search more pic or info, but as you can see in the image, the scale is 1/8 and the base price is 12.000 yens. I will make a new post ASAP with new info and images and also some RAITA figures info too.

Senjou no Valkyria franchise sales numbers

There are some things to consider before taking a look at the graph:

-The data comes from Media Create annual sales report (Senjou no Valkyria 1 & 2 games) and Famitsu annual sales report "provisional" (Senjou no Valkyria 3 games).
-Digital sales are not tracked.
-Media Create is regarded as the most complete and reliable source, but their chart for 2011 top sales games is not yet available, so I'm using the "provisional" Famitsu chart for Senjou no Valkyria 3 games.
-Sales for every game are slightly bigger because when the games can't reach a set position in the sales chart, the data is no longer provided to the public, but at this point in the game lifespan, sales are minimal and don't represent an impact in total sales numbers.
-There is something odd going on with the Extra Edition, the game was released in November, 23 and the Famitsu chart tracks till December, 25, so there is some data missing.

I will bring you any update if needed when Media Create 2011 chart is available to the public.

All in all, I think is safe to say that there is a strong fanbase in Japan, all the regular releases of the games has reached 150.000 copies sold. It's true that we don't know how much they spend to make the games or how much profit Sega gets from them (plus toys, books...) but there are games that sold way less and they get sequel all the time.

Selvaria Bles Swimsuit Ver. figure [New images]

The MegaHobby EXPO2011 AUTUMN event took place today in Japan and visitors, among other things, have been able to take a closer look to the Selvaria Bles Swimsuit Ver. figure. As far as I know this is the first event open to the public where the figure was shown in colour, previously magazine scans or publicity images showed the figure painted, but not in a public event.

A Gallian Torrent

 

Today I bring you some interesting torrent files. First of all a torrent from Celestial Being with some content extracted directly from the Valkyria Chronicles game for PS3. In this torrent you will find the following content:

·PS3 menu images: All the images that the PS3 display when you insert the game disc or load your savegame.

·Music: 33 music track, because this is directly ripped from the disc as raw data, they are not properly named. This is not the full soundtrack or in most of the cases the full songs but there are some interesting things.

·Movies: 71 movie files at 720P resolution. From the opening, to the credits, every movie in the game with dual audio (Japanese and English) without subtitles.

[Celestial Being] Valkyria Chronicles (PS3 CGI Dual Audio)

The next one is another fansub of the first OVA of Senjou no Valkyria 3, this time done by the group called Doki. The OVA is available in 3 resolutions, 480P, 720P and 1080P with very high quality of sound and image and of course English subtitles.

A condecorated soldier

Finally got my last medal in Senjou no Valkyria 3, and with this, I have all the medals in all the Valkyria Chronicles games.

I got Senjou no Valkyria 3 when it was released in Japan back in January, I played 90 hours (beat the game, see both endings, complete some extra stuff..) but decided to left the rest of the stuff for the English version. I did the same with the previous Japanese versions, but obviously, doesn't look like Sega is going to localize Senjou no Valkyria 3 for the west and with the news of the Extra Edition, I decided to finish what I left uncompleted.

At the end I completed the game after 140 hours, far away from the 270 hours I played Valkyria Chronicles 2, but we all know why you need to invest so many hours into Valkyria Chronicles 2.

I captured some of the stats from my savegame.

Nothing much to say, 5771 enemies defeated and of course every mission with S rank, if I remember well I killed 12000 enemies in Valkyria Chronicles 2!.

Very surprised to see Imca so up in the charts, but know that I think about it, I used her to achieve the medal for getting all the potentials with one soldier, so that's the reason. Looks like I love Riela, Carissa and her awesome tank and of course the snipers, Kurt is OK, you have to use it no matter what, at least for his command point.

Combo attacks, I don't use those much, but obviously, Riela and Carissa are right there.

Go scouts!.

And that's all, now I have to wait till November to import my savedate into the Extra Edition. I have the game to fresh in my mind, I don't fell like replaying the whole game again, not so soon at least. So I will play the new content, and then some DLC codes that I have from the Anime DVDs  and the Imca nendroid, and finally will purchase the remaining DLC content. Like I did with the completion of the game, I was holding back to get or play all the DLC till the English version comes to the west...... oh, well.
