Valkyria Chronicles 3: Complete Artworks Preorders Available

It seemed highly unlikely given that VC3 was not released outside of Japan, but it looks like UDON will be releasing the Valkyria Chronicles 3: Complete Artworks! It is now available for preorder on Amazon. The wealth of information contained in this artbook is perfect for those of you who were unable to enjoy the plot of VC3 whether due to inability to import or the language barrier. So please show your support for Valkyria Chronicles and UDON by preordering!

Hope for an English release of the Valkyria Chronicles 3 Artbook?

Now that the Valkyria Chronicles 2 artbook has been released I decided to go ahead and email UDON about whether or not a release of the VC3 artbook would be possible. Although the response I received was far from a guarantee, it does provide a ray of hope for the fans that would like to see it released in English. UDON is very interested in releasing the VC3 book, but whether or not it will be possible for them to do so is going to depend largely on the sales of the recently released Valkyria Chronicles 2: World Artworks. If sales of the VC2 artbook are much lower than those of the VC1 book then it will be impossible for them to release the VC3 book.

For fans of the series that are unable to read Japanese, this is the perfect opportunity to learn about VC3's story since the artbooks contain a wealth of story information in addition to the breathtaking VC art that we all know and love. An English release of the VC3 artbook would be a huge step toward reigniting the series' weakening fanbase outside of Japan. If the artbook sold well despite the game not being release outside of Japan, it would send a strong message to Sega that they should continue to support the series worldwide. But in order for us to send that message we need UDON to release the VC3. So if you haven't purchased the VC2 artbook yet, please be sure to do so and to spread the word to everyone else. Here is a link to it on Amazon

Valkyria Chronicles 2: World Artworks Shipping Now

Amazon has begun shipping the Valkyria Chronicles 2: World Artworks, so you can start expecting it soon. Just a reminder, even though VC3 was not released outside of Japan it is possible that UDON will release the artbook if the demand is high enough. So if you want to see the VC3 artbook in English, be sure to purchase the first two artbooks if you haven't already.

Valkyria Chronicles 2: World Artworks Delayed

UDON Entertainment has announced that the Valkyria Chronicles 2: World Artworks has been delayed until "late May" rather than the expected April release. Amazon provides a more concrete release date of May 17, but there is no way of knowing right now if that will actually be the release date. It is possible that May 17 will indeed be the release date as that is in line with UDON's late May announcement, but do not be surprised if it turns out to be later than that.

Despite the delay, I urge everyone to still purchase the artbook. Not only will it be filled with wonderful art and information, good sales would go a long way in convincing UDON to release VC3's artbook despite the game not being localized.

Lets keep our fingers crossed for some good VC news to come our way. Hopefully we will get more information on the "Valkyria Duel" game recently trademarked.

Senjou no Valkyria & RAITA in Wonder Festival 2012 [Winter]

This is all the info and images that I manage to get from the Wonder Festival that took place 2 days ago. As far as I know the only figure that will be on stores is the Selvaria Bles figure created by Volks, the rest are model kits done by circles to be sold in hobby festivals. Regarding the RAITA figures, the only info that I manage to find it's that a company or circle called native is doing the Misa-nee from the Magical Girl doujinshi, for the rest I don't have a clue, and I don't know if the Misa-nee figure will be sold in stores or it's a model kit.

You can watch the images after the jump, but be careful some images are not safe for work.

Valkyria Chronicles 2: World Artworks

This was announced a while back, but I thought it would be good to throw everyone a reminder. UDON Entertainment will be releasing the Valkyria Chronicles 2: World Artworks later this year. Despite several release date delays, they did an excellent job with the first Valkyria Chronicles artbook. So if you're a fan of RAITA's art or just want to see behind the scenes details about the series, it would definitely be a good idea to pick this up.

Pre-orders are open on Amazon, so if you're thinking about buying it I would highly recommend that you pre-order, not just because it is beneficial to the publisher but also because you'll be able to save some money. I pre-ordered the first artbook about a year before it was released (due to all of the delays) and thanks to Amazon's pre-order price guarantee, by the time it was released I ended up paying much less for it than its final price. So if you're interested in pre-ordering, click here to be taken to the Amazon product page.

Something else to keep in mind about these artbooks is that even though VC3 has yet to be released outside of Japan, if we show UDON through the sales of the artbooks that we would like to see the VC3 artbook as well, we may have a chance at getting them to release that too. So if you want to see the VC3 artbook in English at some point, make sure to purchase the VC1 book if you haven't already and pre-order VC2's!

Upcoming RAITA Figurine!

Clcik to enlarge.

Hi everyone! While Valkyria Chronicles news may be hard to come by right now, Raita on the other hand keeps giving us fans something to look forward to! According to his twitter, Misa-nee from his Magical Girl doujinshi series (the 8^th issue was posted on the blog previously) will be getting a figurine! He also posted a picture of the figurine’s prototype on his twitter, but it was promptly taken down. Do not despair though! we were able to save the picture before it was taken down.

Through subsequent tweets Raita also hints that the figurine may be finished in time to be displayed at Wonder Festival on February 12^th! For those of you that don’t know, Wonder Festival is an event that happens twice a year in Japan and the purpose is to showcase new model kits and figurines. The work of amateur artists as well as well established artists are displayed, so there’s a wide variety of things to check out there. Here’s a link to the official website in case you want to check it out: http://wf.kaiyodo.net/

Raita goes on to hint that if this figurine gets popular, it’s possible that figurines of the other three girls could be made. So if you’d like to see that happen, be sure to import the figurine when it’s released! Keep checking back for more information, we’ll be sure to keep you updated!

RAITA's latest work

RAITA's last work debuted at Comic Market 80 back in August. His latest doujinshi (Dōjinshi) is called 泥棒猫の横恋慕 (Dorobou neko no yokorenbo) containing 28 pages of his usual work, erotic doujinshi.

I selected 3 pages totally safe in case anyone want to check his art style outside Valkyria Chronicles. I don't think this pages are representative of the way he draws but the other pages are extremely not safe.
